Armenian Weightlifter Wins Another Gold Medal

A representative of the Armenian youth weightlifting team, European senior champion Gohar Sahakyan, has won a gold medal at the U23 European Championships in Poland with a total lift of 320 kg (140+180 kg). This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia.

In the snatch event, Sahakyan made one successful attempt, lifting 140 kg above her head, which earned her a small bronze medal in that category. In the clean and jerk, the Armenian weightlifter made two successful lifts, first lifting 175 kg and then 180 kg, securing a small gold medal.

Garnik Cholakyan, competing in the 61 kg weight category, also claimed the title of champion at the U23 European Championships. The Armenian weightlifter demonstrated a total result of 275 kg (125+150 kg) in the combined lift.
