Details on the Controversial Case of Animal Brutality
An investigation has been initiated against a 53-year-old resident of the Avshar community in the Ararat region, suspected of showing brutal treatment towards an animal. This was reported to Aurora News by Gor Abrahamyan, spokesperson for the Investigative Committee.
“An investigation has been launched in the Vedi Investigative Division of the Ararat Regional Investigative Directorate based on Article 307, Part 2, Points 1 and 2 of the Criminal Code (cruel treatment of animals, committed by a group of individuals with particular cruelty). A decision has been made to arrest one individual who was presented to the investigative authorities by the police, and he is currently in custody. Other details are being clarified,” noted Abrahamyan during our conversation.
Earlier, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Zarzand Gabrielyan, had informed Aurora News, “Officers of the Ararat Regional Department and Ararat Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs discovered and arrested a 53-year-old resident of the Avshar community in the Ararat region on suspicion of showing cruel treatment towards an animal.”
