Pashinyan Has Not Received an Invitation to the Muron Blessing and Church Re-consecration Ceremonies
The newspaper 'Zhoghovurd' reports that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has not received an invitation from the Mother See to participate in the re-consecration of the Mother Cathedral and the blessing of the Holy Muron. According to 'Zhoghovurd,' the ceremonies are set to take place in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin on September 28-29.
Under the leadership of the Catholicos of All Armenians, preparations are underway for these significant events, which are intended to be celebrated with due pomp and grandeur. Among many guests, the Catholicos has invited 1,500 Armenian diasporans to take part in the rituals.
In the context of strained relations between the government and the church, there is hesitation at the Mother See regarding whether to invite the Armenian authorities to the re-consecration of the Mother Cathedral, and if they were to send an invitation, whether they would attend.
Nazeli Baghdasaryan, the press secretary of the Prime Minister, informed 'Zhoghovurd' that the Prime Minister's office has not yet received an official invitation from the Mother See regarding the re-consecration and blessing ceremonies.
