Stay Alert: Rescue Services Have Entered Increased Readiness
In accordance with the directive of the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Rescue Service has entered an increased state of readiness. This has been reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) Rescue Service.
“Due to the anticipated heavy rainfall, the Minister of Internal Affairs Vahe Ghazaryan has instructed the Rescue Service to enter an increased state of readiness. As part of this, based on the order of the Director of the MIA Rescue Service and Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Major General Kamo Tsutsulyan, a gathering has been announced today at 15:00 for the personnel of the MIA Rescue Service in Lori, Tavush, Gegharkunik, and Syunik regions. Rescue equipment has been moved to a state of special preparation to carry out rescue operations as necessary.
At the same time, short alert messages have been sent to around 1,500 officials in those regions (community and settlement leaders, heads of services, school directors, etc.) on behalf of the MIA Rescue Service. The Ministry of Internal Affairs is also carrying out notifications in those regions using loudspeakers, and guidelines for behavior during, before, and after floods are being disseminated through mass media.
We urge the public to remain vigilant, follow the provided behavioral guidelines, and at the same time, we call on everyone not to give in to panic, and to call if necessary,” the statement reads.
