The Reason for the Postponement of the Unified Ticketing System Implementation Has Been Revealed
The Mayor of Yerevan, Tigran Avinyan, addressed the city council concerning the postponement of the implementation date for the unified ticketing system. According to him, the delay is linked to their promise that the system will only be activated after the introduction of 171 new buses and a new trolleybus line.
“I assure you, all the possible loopholes that existed in the structure will be neutralized by the new system, considering that there will no longer be any cash transactions,” said the mayor.
Later, in response to a question from Grigor Yeritsyan, Tigran Avinyan noted that the vehicles are planned to arrive in October. “The deadline has been proposed to be moved to January 1 to allow for the necessary arrangements, line integrations, and specific technical solutions,” he added. According to him, it could have been done sooner, but they want the system to be complete and flawless.
