Flooding Causes Collapse of Neghotsi Bridge; Family with Minors Stranded on Opposite Bank
Flooding has resulted in the collapse of the wooden bridge in the village of Neghotsi in the Lori region. A family with two minor children has been left stranded on the other side of the river. This was reported to NEWS.am by Anahita Asiryan, a resident of Neghotsi, whose family is located on the opposite bank.
“Our house is on the other side of the river, and the only road connecting our house to the village was that bridge. We have no water issues, as there is a spring near the house, but my husband had to travel through the forests and over railway tracks today to be able to buy food. The children and I cannot go that way. We can’t go in or out, we can’t get to the village,” said Anahita Asiryan, adding that the local municipality is aware of the issue, but no measures have been taken yet.

These include the towns of Tumanyan, and the villages of Dzoraget, Vahagnadzor, Alaverdi, Akhtala, Shamlugh, Akhtala, Bendik, Teghut, Haghpat, Jojkan, Mets Ayrum, Neghotsi, Shnogh, Pokr Ayrum, Karkop, Tashir, and the towns of Stepanavan, Amrakesh, and Hobardz, as well as the city of Dilijan and the village of Haghartsin, the city of Ijevan, and the villages of Achajur, Gandzakhar, Getahovit, Ditavan, Lusadzor, Khastarak, the town of Ayrum, and the villages of Arjiss, Bagratashen, Debedavan, Khakhtanak, and Ptghavan.
