QPP Members on Impeachment Process Against Pashinyan
Members of the "Civil Contract" faction have stated that they will not join the opposition's impeachment process against the Prime Minister, as such an issue is not on their agenda.
Tert.am spoke with legislators from the QPP faction. Most of them did not answer phone calls.
Gurgen Melkonyan, an independent member of the QPP faction, noted that neither Bishop Bagrat nor anyone else from the Movement has approached him regarding the impeachment process.
"They haven't approached me, and even if they do, I won't join," he responded briefly.
Alexey Sandikov also said that he has not been contacted.
"There is no impeachment issue on my agenda," he stated.
Knyaz Hasanov told the media that Nikol Pashinyan is a legitimate Prime Minister, elected by a significant majority of votes. He indicated that he was not approached, and if contacted, he also would not join.
"Pashinyan is a legitimately elected Prime Minister; I don’t understand what the impeachment is about. What am I joining in? This is childish—today I’m joining one person, tomorrow I’m joining another; I don’t understand this. Pashinyan was elected by a significant majority of votes," he said.
Regarding the grievances and protest actions, he added, "It is a constitutional right; whoever wants to protest can do so within the framework of the law, but there is no impeachment issue on my agenda," he declared.
Hovik Aghazaryan also mentioned to the media that even signatures are insufficient for the question to be included in the agenda for impeachment.
"For the issue to enter the agenda, at least 19 members from our faction need to support this initiative; that is impossible," he said.
When asked if he rules out the possibility of finding such members, he stated that no one will join this initiative.
