VIDEO: Fan Who Showed Middle Finger to Arman Tsarukyan Apologizes
A mixed martial arts (MMA) fan, Obed Ardon, has commented on the scandalous incident he triggered during the UFC 300 event held in Las Vegas. Obed Ardon showed his middle finger to Arman Tsarukyan (Armenia), who noticed and attempted to retaliate.
UFC president Dana White later remarked that the fan would likely consider taking legal action against the UFC. “I am not going to court. That thought never crossed my mind. My first concern was that I wouldn’t get kicked out of the event. I had paid $2,500 for my ticket,” said Ardon.
“I would like to apologize to Arman. I provoked him by showing the middle finger, but I had been drinking alcohol all day and was not sober. It was my first time attending a UFC event. It was absolutely incredible. I’m glad that the incident didn’t have serious consequences. I didn’t push Arman, I didn’t insult him; I simply showed my middle finger. Congratulations to him on his victory and I wish him success in the title fight,” the fan's statement was quoted by Bloody Elbow.
In the UFC 300 event, Arman Tsarukyan earned a title challenger status after defeating Brazilian Charles Oliveira. He is set to fight Russian Islam Makhachev.
It is noteworthy that Armenian-Russian athlete Arman Tsarukyan had previously commented on his scuffle with a spectator during a UFC event, stating that it was a provocation.
