VIDEO. Carlson Announces Release Date of Interview with Putin
The interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin will be released on February 9 at 2:00 PM Moscow time. American television host Tucker Carlson announced this on his Instagram.
The interview will be published on his website. Carlson traveled to Russia and announced on February 6 that he would soon release the interview with the Russian President. This information was confirmed the next day by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the head of state.
According to the Kremlin spokesperson, the American journalist's stance is "different from the rest." He noted, "It is not pro-Russian in any way, it is not pro-Ukrainian; it is more pro-American, but at least contradictory to the positions of these traditional Anglo-Saxon media outlets."
Some American politicians and media outlets have demanded Carlson's arrest, claiming he could become a "mouthpiece for the Kremlin." Meanwhile, Elon Musk, owner of the X social network, stated that they should be arrested and urged people to "listen to" the journalist.
Carlson, for his part, insists that he does not feel guilty for speaking to Putin and does not consider himself a traitor. Opposition to the interview has also come from both former and current members of the European Parliament. Former Belgian Prime Minister and current MEP Guy Verhofstadt stated that the American journalist's work in Russia could lead to a conflict between Carlson and the EU.
Former MEP Louis Garicano added that Carlson is "not a journalist, but a mouthpiece for one of the most disgusting regimes on European soil, the most dangerous regime for our peace and security."
