Houthi Forces Attack American USS Gravely Warship in Red Sea
The Houthi movement, ruling in northern Yemen, announced on Wednesday that the American USS Gravely warship has become a new target of attacks in the Red Sea, according to Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sari.
“Our naval forces have launched appropriate naval missiles toward the American USS Gravely guided missile destroyer in the Red Sea,” he said during a broadcast on the Houthi-controlled Al Masirah television channel.
The military spokesperson stated that “all American and British warships participating in aggression against our country have been recognized as targets for our armed forces.”
He reiterated that Yemen's armed forces will continue to blockade ships heading to Israeli ports through the Red and Arabian Seas until military operations in the Gaza Strip cease.
Since January 12, the U.S. and the U.K. have been striking Houthi positions in various parts of Yemen to halt their attacks on ships linked to Israel in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandeb Strait.
