VIDEO: "In yesterday's weather conditions, 6 out of 10 buses were sure to be in an accident,” says Prime Minister
“We are paying great attention to road traffic safety, and we also have a working group that is constantly working to understand what we can do to enhance road traffic safety,” stated Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
During a government session, the draft amendments to the law on “Automobile Roads” were discussed. According to the Prime Minister, the results of the efforts are visible, as there has been a decrease in accidents and fatalities. “The police went to bus stations and checked the tires of microbuses and buses servicing intercity routes, which had a high degree of wear, and did not allow them to go out on the routes. This is significant because if they had gone out on the routes, in yesterday's weather conditions, 6 out of 10 would definitely have been in an accident,” he said, adding that they do not know how many lives this operation has saved or how many accidents have been prevented.
