55-Year-Old Woman Distributes Counterfeit Currency at Bakery Store
Operational information regarding counterfeiting came to light on January 24 by detectives of the Ararat police department. As a result of the actions taken, it was revealed that a 55-year-old woman from Artashat was distributing counterfeit banknotes.
It was also discovered that days earlier, she had used a counterfeit note at one of the bakeries in Artashat. Following subsequent measures, the director of one of the individual enterprises presented two counterfeit banknotes with a nominal value of 10,000 drams to the police, stating that between January 15 and 20, the 55-year-old local resident had made purchases with them.
The 55-year-old woman was arrested and taken to the Ararat police station. Circumstances are being clarified. The documents have been sent to the Ararat regional investigative department.
