Ukraine and Great Britain Sign Billions-Of-Dollars Agreement
Ukraine and Great Britain have signed an agreement on security guarantees. Great Britain has announced a defense assistance package worth $3 billion, the largest since the beginning of the war in Ukraine.
The agreement will remain in effect until Ukraine's accession to NATO. The agreement was signed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
All G7 countries have committed to providing security guarantees to Ukraine, with Great Britain being the first. The agreement, which British authorities describe as 'historic', stipulates that in the event of a new attack on Ukraine, Great Britain will provide 'rapid and sustained' assistance in the defense sector.
The agreement also outlines the assistance that London is already providing to Kyiv, including the exchange of intelligence data, cooperation in cybersecurity and defense industry fields, and training for medical personnel and military personnel.
Zelensky noted that if such guarantees had been provided to Ukraine in 1991, the war would not have started.
