Secret Meeting on Zelensky's Peace Plan Held 10 Days Ago, Lavrov Says

A secret meeting regarding Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky's proposed "peace plan" took place ten days ago, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced. According to him, representatives from Western countries and certain nations from the Global South attended the session, as reported by kommersant.ru.

“Another such meeting occurred ten days ago, involving the G7 along with leading developing nations... The meeting was held under absolute confidentiality, with no information reported anywhere and no leaks,” Lavrov stated.

Zelensky's "peace plan," presented at the beginning of 2023, includes the complete withdrawal of Russian troops, restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity within its 1991 borders, the release of all prisoners, and the assurance of nuclear, food, and environmental security.

Lavrov noted that the parties involved agreed to hold another meeting in January, with a summit planned for February to endorse the "peace plan." Additionally, in an interview, Lavrov mentioned that U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin referred to Russia as a "hostile" nation during that meeting.

Lavrov emphasized that Moscow is prepared for any developments, reiterating that there have been numerous attempts to conquer and subjugate Russia.
