Turkish TV Presenter Fired for Bringing Starbucks Coffee on Air
A Turkish TV presenter has lost her job after appearing on air with a cup of Starbucks coffee. It is noteworthy that this American brand is considered 'pro-Israel' in the country and has been subjected to a boycott due to the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
'In accordance with the principles of our organization, it is strictly prohibited to serve as a presenter while secretly advertising any company,' the channel's management explained the personnel decision.
In addition to Meltem Güney, the director of the news program was also dismissed.
'Our organization will continue to stand by Gaza and the Turkish people and defend their feelings until the end,' the television channel stated in its announcement.
