No Request Received for Arresting and Extraditing Setrakov to Russia, Says Martirosyan
The Armenian Prosecutor General's Office has not received, discussed, or approved any request for the arrest, detention, or extradition of Dmitry Setrakov to the Russian authorities. There is no information available at the Prosecutor General's Office regarding Setrakov's search by Russian law enforcement or any indication of his discovery within Armenian territory.
As previously reported, a request concerning Setrakov was sent to the body conducting operational investigative activities, aimed at verifying the information presented in it, after which the issue of initiating proceedings will be considered, according to a statement from the Prosecutor's Office.
Setrakov, a Russian conscript who fled the ongoing war in Ukraine and sought asylum in Armenia, has been located in Russia. According to the Russian service of Azatutyun, he may be at the military police in Rostov-on-Don. It was earlier reported that a criminal case has been initiated against the conscript for leaving the place of service without permission, which could result in up to ten years of imprisonment.
