VIDEO: 26 of the Returning Prisoners are from Shirak Region, Governor
Negotiations regarding the return of prisoners have been conducted secretly, and the process has been closed. This was stated by the Governor of Shirak Region, Musheg Muradyan, during a conversation with reporters near the "Murazan" hospital on December 13, where he had also come to welcome the Armenian soldiers returning from captivity.
“We had no doubt that this day would come. Of the returning prisoners, 26 are from the Shirak region, our boys who were captured in Khtsaberd,” he said.
Regarding the prisoners whose captivity has not been confirmed by Azerbaijan, the governor stated, “We are hopeful that the day of their return will also come.”
It is worth noting that today the relatives of the Armenian prisoners who returned from Azerbaijan gathered near the central hospital of “Murazan” as they were brought here for medical examination.
Earlier, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had announced that in 2020-2023, 31 Armenian servicemen captured and one serviceman captured in Nagorno-Karabakh in September have crossed the Azerbaijan-Armenia border and are currently in the Republic of Armenia. “They will first undergo a preliminary medical examination and then return to their families,” he noted, revealing the names of the returned prisoners.
