Sources from the Babel publication have reported that the wife of Ukraine's Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) chief Kyrylo Budanov has been diagnosed with heavy metal poisoning by doctors. Sources claim that ‘these substances are not used in everyday life or military operations in any way.’

‘Their presence may indicate a deliberate attempt to poison a specific individual,’ the sources noted.

The wife of Ukraine's intelligence chief is currently undergoing a treatment course and will remain under medical supervision. An investigation is underway regarding the attempted murder. At the time of publication, Ukrainian law enforcement had not officially announced an investigation into the attempted murder of the GUR chief's wife.
