Strong Winds in Czech Republic Cause Traffic Disruptions
The heavy snowfall, accompanied by strong gusts of wind, has led to train stoppages and schedule disruptions for intercity buses in several sections of the Czech Republic. This information has been reported by the websites of national transport companies.
Train services have been suspended in the Karlovy Vary region (to the west of the Republic) and in the Liberec region (in the north of the Czech Republic) across three sectors.
Roads are being cleared of branches and logs brought down by the strong winds. Due to a sudden change in weather, where a layer of bare ice has formed beneath the rapidly accumulating snow on roads, several intercity bus routes in the Central Bohemia region have been canceled.
