Ceasefire Without a Ceasefire: HAMAS Shells Israeli Defense Forces Positions
At least three explosive devices were detonated in two different locations near Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) positions in northern Gaza, violating the ceasefire. This was reported by Interfax, citing a statement from IDF's X microblog.
The statement noted that in addition, HAMAS shelled the IDF positions from one of the locations, and the Israeli side returned fire. "During the incident, several soldiers sustained minor injuries," the IDF mentioned.
The day before, the ceasefire between Israel and HAMAS had been extended for another two days. According to the agreement signed between Israel and HAMAS, which was approved by the Israeli cabinet, the maximum duration of the ceasefire is 10 days, during which Israel will release 300 prisoners.
According to Israeli media, since the temporary ceasefire took effect on November 24, 50 Israelis and 150 Palestinians have been released, in accordance with the previously reached agreement terms.
