Ruben Vardanyan Arrested and Captured by Azerbaijan: Wife's Statement
Ruben Vardanyan's wife, Veronica Zonabend, has issued a statement, which we present below.
“This morning, my husband, philanthropist, businessman, and former Prime Minister of the Republic of Artsakh, Ruben Vardanyan, was arrested and captured by the Azerbaijani authorities at the border while trying to leave Artsakh with thousands of other Armenians fleeing from Azerbaijani occupation. During the ten months of the blockade, Ruben has stood shoulder to shoulder with the people of Artsakh, enduring hardships and fighting for their survival. I pray that my husband is released unharmed and ask for your support,” wrote Veronica Zonabend.
Earlier, it was reported that Azerbaijani Telegram channels claimed that former Prime Minister of Artsakh Ruben Vardanyan was arrested while crossing the Lachin Corridor.
