Efforts Underway to Transport 30 Seriously Injured Individuals from Artsakh to Armenia
Efforts are being made to transport 30 individuals who have sustained serious injuries from Artsakh to Armenia as quickly as possible. This was stated by Vardan Tadevosyan, the Minister of Health of Artsakh, during a broadcast on Artsakh Public TV.
“We are working with the Ministry of Health of Armenia to organize these efforts. The ICRC has agreed to facilitate this transfer. I want to emphasize that we are experiencing cases where individuals are dying due to delays or severe injuries,” the minister highlighted.
He noted that the situation is changing every minute, and naturally, the numbers are also changing. Currently, the wounded are being transported from Martuni to the Republican Hospital in Stepanakert, where their treatment will continue.
Today, the Ministry of Health of Artsakh faces the challenge of transporting seriously injured individuals from Martakert, as well as the bodies of the deceased. The minister hopes that at least by September 23, they will be able to do so with the assistance of the ICRC.
It is reminded that Azerbaijan launched a large-scale attack against Artsakh on September 19. Azerbaijani forces violated the ceasefire along the entire line of contact, delivering missile and artillery strikes.
On September 20, it became known that the authorities of Artsakh accepted the proposal of the commander of the Russian peacekeeping mission regarding the cessation of fire.
On September 21, a meeting was held in Azerbaijan's Yevlakh with representatives of Artsakh and Azerbaijan, mediated by Russian peacekeepers.
