Pashinyan Holds Phone Conversation with Iranian President
A phone conversation took place between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi. The discussion covered issues related to the current situation in the region. In particular, they addressed the deepening humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh resulting from the illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor, the buildup of Azerbaijani forces around Nagorno-Karabakh, and trends in increasing tensions along the Armenia-Azerbaijan state border.
Prime Minister Pashinyan reiterated his commitment to the agreements made on October 6, 2022, in Prague, and on May 14, 2023, in Brussels, as well as the approach of resolving all issues solely through diplomatic means and in a constructive atmosphere.
The Prime Minister expressed readiness to engage in urgent discussions aimed at reducing tensions with the President of Azerbaijan. Additionally, matters related to the Armenia-Iran bilateral agenda were also discussed.
