Police Plans to Impose Fines, This Year's Targets Exceeded

A small portion of the revenues in Armenia’s state budget is consistently ensured through fines for violations. This revenue is categorized in the budget as income from penalties imposed by executive and judicial bodies for violations. These fines are planned during the annual budget approvals. This year, the targets have been exceeded.

The report notes that, according to the Ministry of Finance, in the first half of 2023, a total of 10.6 billion AMD was generated for the budget as a result of fines imposed for violations. Most of this amount, approximately 8.5 billion AMD (80.2%), has been ‘secured’ by the Armenian police.
