UN Security Council Must Move from Calls to Sanctions Against Dictator Aliyev: Tandilyan

The president of the 'Country of Living' party, Mane Tandilyan, addressed the upcoming UN Security Council meeting on her Facebook page. She expressed hope that discussions regarding the situation in Artsakh will halt the genocidal policies of Azerbaijan.

It is unfortunate that the demand concerning Artsakh has turned into a matter of preventing the threat of genocide. Regardless of deep political disagreements, I hope that Armenia's diplomatic corps has exerted all efforts for a favorable resolution of the issue, without sacrificing Armenian interests in the current geopolitical conflicts.

UN Security Council members must transition from calls and demands to the implementation of sanctions against dictator Aliyev and Azerbaijan. Otherwise, it becomes evident that there is a silent agreement among the great powers regarding the current situation.

We must make every effort to emerge from this difficult situation and continue the fight for a strong Armenia and a free Artsakh.
