Mirzoyan and Lavrov Discuss Humanitarian Crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh
The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Russia, Ararat Mirzoyan and Sergey Lavrov, have discussed the crisis that has arisen in Nagorno-Karabakh. Mirzoyan shared this information on Twitter.
“During the phone conversation, the urgent need to prevent the humanitarian catastrophe resulting from the illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor and ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh was emphasized. The necessity of clear steps to lift the blockade was also highlighted,” the minister stated.
It is noteworthy that on August 11, the Republic of Armenia appealed to the United Nations Security Council to convene an emergency meeting regarding the deterioration of the humanitarian situation caused by the complete blockade imposed on the peaceful population of Nagorno-Karabakh.
The UN Security Council meeting is scheduled to take place today at 23:00 Yerevan time.
