LUSANKAR. Car Accident on Yerevan–Gyumri Road: 11 Dead and 6 Injured
On August 14, at 00:27, the Shirak Regional Rescue Department's crisis management center received a report of a traffic accident on the Yerevan-Gyumri highway near the village of Lanjik. This was reported by the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia.
A rapid response team from the regional rescue department and a firefighting unit were dispatched to the scene.
It was established that a passenger minibus branded 'Volkswagen' collided with a 'ZIL' freight truck (driver: H. P., born in 1990) on the 90th kilometer of the Yerevan-Gyumri highway.
According to information received from the Gyumri Medical Center, the injured included M. G. (born in 1996), L. Q. (born in 1989), H. P. (born in 1990), P. A. (born in 1985), E. K. (born in 2000), and E. S. (born in 1984). Subsequently, E. S. was transferred to Yerevan's 'Erebuni' Medical Center.
The tragic accident resulted in 11 fatalities.
