No Response Yet from Russian Peacekeeping Forces, Says Vardan Sargsyan
For the sixth day, 360 tons of humanitarian aid sent from Armenia to Nagorno-Karabakh are stuck at the Kornidzor border section. The Armenian side is waiting for the cargo to be transferred to the Russian peacekeeping contingent, which would then pass it on to Nagorno-Karabakh. However, as of now, there has been no response, reports News.am.
Vardan Sargsyan, a representative of the working group on managing the humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh, stated during a press briefing that there has been no response from the Russian peacekeeping forces either. Despite various calls from different states, international reactions, statements from political and public figures, as well as relevant decisions made by the International Court of Justice, Azerbaijan continues to unlawfully keep the Lachin corridor closed and obstruct the transport of the cargo.
“An increased interest in the situation created by international media outlets has been observed. Notably, a journalist from the Agence France-Presse was here yesterday and was able to witness what is happening on the ground regarding the situation, with the corresponding publication already spread by AFP,” Sargsyan added.
