David Tonoyan made a political statement acknowledging that he should be punished as the Minister of Defense after the defeat. This was said by former Minister of Defense David Tonoyan following a meeting of the parliamentary inquiry commission, where Andranik Kocharian spoke with reporters.

"I perceived it as him wanting to take all the blame upon himself. He announced it that way," said Andranik Kocharian.

Regarding the comment that some opposition members have termed Tonoyan's request for the opposition to participate in the commission's meeting as a show, Andranik Kocharian responded, "It is a person sitting in isolation making a request. What kind of show is that? Did you see a show? Should we have danced? Should we have gone out and let the opposition come and sit? This is a unique opportunity. If you put everything under the 'sauce' of a show, you won't achieve anything."
