Call for a Fact-Finding Mission to Study the Situation of Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh: President of the PACE

The President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Tiny Kox, has issued a statement regarding the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh.

"Considering the further deterioration of the humanitarian and human rights situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, I remind the Assembly's appeal directed to the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe on June 20 to organize a fact-finding mission to Azerbaijan as soon as possible. This mission aims to assess the situation faced by Armenians since December 12, 2022, due to the lack of access to free and safe movement along the Lachin corridor.

I join the call for dialogue addressed by the Secretary General of the Council of Europe on July 28, 2023, and urge Armenia and Azerbaijan, as member states of the Council of Europe, to finally fulfill their mutual obligations undertaken upon accession to ease tensions and restore peace between their countries."
