Dutch Club Chooses Spertsyan Over Zakharian Due to Price, Reports Say
The Amsterdam football club Ajax was interested in acquiring the midfielder Arsen Zakharian from Moscow's Dynamo but has since shifted its focus to another Russian club player, midfielder Eduard Spertsyan from Krasnodar and the Armenian national team. This is reported by 1908.nl.
The publication notes that this change in interest occurred after a €25 million price tag was placed on Zakharian.
Earlier reports had indicated that the 20-year-old Zakharian was being pursued by Dutch club Feyenoord, with the Dynamo midfielder's candidacy actively discussed as a transfer target for the summer window.
Spertsyan, 23, is a product of Krasnodar's youth academy. In the previous season, the midfielder scored 14 goals and provided 14 assists in 41 games. His contract with the club runs until the summer of 2026.
Although born in Russia, Spertsyan decided to represent the Armenian national team in February 2021.
It is worth noting that during the 2022/2023 season of the Russian Premier League, Spertsyan scored 10 goals and made 11 assists in 28 matches.
