Survivors Found 40 Days After Airplane Crash in Colombia
Survivors have been found in Colombia more than a month after an airplane crash. This was reported by RIA Novosti, citing the local newspaper Tiempo.
According to military sources, the children who had been missing since May 1 have been located. The Cessna 206 aircraft they were flying in had crashed. The other three occupants of the aircraft were killed. Sources note that the children were found by soldiers and locals.
According to the newspaper, the children are dehydrated and have suffered from insect bites.
Recall that the Cessna 206, which was en route from Araracuara to San José del Guaviare, reported an engine failure to the southern department of Caquetá and issued a distress signal on May 1. It was discovered after more than 370 hours of searching. The body of the pilot was found on board, but the six passengers, four of whom were minors, were not present in the cabin or around the aircraft.
According to Tiempo, the bodies of co-pilot Herman Mendoza and the passenger, Magdalena Mukutu, the mother of four children, were found later.
