Azerbaijanis Destroy Memorial Dedicated to World War II Victims in Berdzor
Azerbaijanis have leveled the memorial dedicated to the victims of the Great Patriotic War, located on a hill in the center of Berdzor, which was constructed during the Soviet era to honor those who fell in the 1941-45 war. This information was reported by the State Service for the Protection of Historical Environment of the Republic of Artsakh.
It is noted that the Berdzor Glory Memorial was also dedicated to the heroic Armenian soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the Artsakh liberation struggle in the Kashatagh region. The names of these heroes are engraved on three walls of the memorial.
The Glory Memorial features three khachkars (cross-stones). One is dedicated to the “Special Squad,” another to the Armenian heroes who fell during the liberation of Shushi, and the third one is dedicated to Vazgen Sargsyan.
