The second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, has been subjected to a two-month detention measure. This was announced by Marina Ohanyan, the spokesperson for the Anti-Corruption Committee.

“In light of public interest, we inform you that the Anti-Corruption Court (headed by Judge S. Dadoyan) has fully granted the investigator's motion, and detention has been applied as a preventive measure against R. K.,” she stated.

It should be noted that the Anti-Corruption Court, presided over by Judge Sargis Dadoyan, has been examining the preliminary investigation authority's proposal regarding the detention of Robert Kocharyan since yesterday.

Robert Kocharyan has been charged with the abuse of official powers, large-scale money laundering, and receiving a particularly large bribe.

Earlier, we reported that Robert Kocharyan has been transferred to a hospital once again, as the examination of the detention motion continues without him.
