Armenia Never Rejected CSTO Observational Mission to Be in Armenia: Khandanian
Armenia has never rejected the possibility of a CSTO observational mission being present in the country. This was stated by the Chairman of the National Assembly’s Foreign Relations Committee, Sargis Khandanian, during a conversation with journalists.
He emphasized that the document upon which such a mission would be based is currently in the process of revision. “It is important for us that the records made are objective and accurately reflect the reality of what has occurred in the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia,” he noted.
Khandanian elaborated that discussions regarding the deployment of a CSTO mission could only take place when Armenia finds that a proposal has been presented that meets the positions and wishes of official Yerevan. According to the parliament member, without a thorough assessment of the situation, it would be difficult to envision what kind of mission the CSTO should undertake.
