Lavrov and Blinken Meet for First Time Since War Began
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov during the G20 Foreign Ministers' Summit taking place in New Delhi. This was reported by CNN, citing a US State Department official who is accompanying Blinken in India.
The source stated that Blinken and Lavrov spoke for about 10 minutes. During their conversation, the US Secretary urged Russia to release American Paul Whelan, restore participation in the Strategic Offensive Arms Reduction Treaty, and emphasized Washington's support for Ukraine.
This marks the first meeting between Blinken and Lavrov since Russia announced the beginning of its special military operation in Ukraine.
