Regional Security Remains a Relevant Topic: Lavrov

Russia welcomes any efforts by other states aimed at regulating relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation in the region. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during a meeting with Ilham Aliyev in Baku.

“Many of our international partners, including those far from the region, express genuine interest in contributing to the settlement between Armenia and Azerbaijan. As President Putin has repeatedly stated, we welcome any efforts that serve the interests of stabilizing the situation and creating conditions for all countries in the region to cooperate on the basis of normalcy, mutual respect, and mutual benefit for the sake of their countries and peoples,” Lavrov noted.

According to him, regional security continues to remain a relevant topic in both bilateral and multilateral formats.
