Armenia and Azerbaijan Receive Invitation from Charles Michel
The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, has sent an invitation to both Armenia and Azerbaijan to conduct negotiations in Brussels. This was stated by Ned Price, spokesperson for the U.S. State Department, during a briefing with reporters.
“We strongly support the EU process, and I must note that there is an offer from President Michel to host the parties in Brussels. It is an opportunity, should they accept it, to negotiate and continue the progress we have seen in recent weeks,” said Ned Price.
The State Department representative mentioned that, according to his information, the parties have been invited and given the opportunity to hold a meeting in Brussels. “Ultimately, any such meeting regarding their potential participation must be discussed by the parties themselves – our Armenian partners, our Azerbaijani partners,” Price said in response to a question about possible timelines for the meeting.
Price added that the U.S. is ready to support the parties in negotiations aimed at finding a comprehensive solution to the issue.
