I See No Alternative to Cooperation in the Security Sector: Russian Ambassador
Armenia is a close ally for Russia, a fact that is consistently affirmed at the level of the country's leadership, said Sergey Kopirkin, the Russian Ambassador to Armenia, in a conversation with Sputnik Armenia.
“Naturally, our cooperation in defense matters, and security issues in general, are key areas. Thus, the cooperation, coupled with the traditions of military brotherhood that have been formed over centuries, has not disappeared anywhere. It exists and is a very important part not only for our states but also for our peoples,” said Kopirkin.
The ambassador emphasized the importance of cooperation and its development in the defense sector between the two countries. “Personally, I see no alternative to our allied relations and cooperation in the field of security. This arises from the interests of our countries,” noted Kopirkin.
He also pointed out that the events currently taking place in the world and the region, as well as the challenges faced by both countries, make the relations between Armenia and Russia more relevant.
