Assurance Received from Azerbaijan on Dialogue between Baku and Stepanakert: Mirzoyan
"From the very beginning, when we initiated discussions on a peace treaty with Azerbaijan, there was an understanding and agreement to conduct those negotiations in two main directions: one is the establishment and regulation of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and the other, certainly, is a format and platform to discuss the rights and security of the population living in Nagorno-Karabakh and the Armenian people," stated Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
According to him, Azerbaijan has long avoided engaging in this conversation. "In Munich, not only during the panel discussion but also during the Blinken-Aliyev-Pashinyan meeting, we received confirmation from the Azerbaijani side regarding their willingness to ensure that international dialogue between Baku and Stepanakert takes place."
"On the other hand, we have continuously seen, over recent years, that agreements have been reached, assurances have been given, promises have been made, and then there has been a retreat from those positions, even down to signed, well-known agreements. I hope that this time, that will not be the case," he added.
