Let us recall that on December 12, 2022, Azerbaijani authorities grossly violated the provisions of the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020, by blocking the Lachin corridor connecting Artsakh with Armenia and the outside world. As a result, there is an increasing shortage of essential goods, medicines, food, and fuel in the republic.

To deepen the destructive impact of the blockade, Azerbaijan periodically shuts down gas supplies from Armenia to Artsakh through the territories it occupies.

"The blockade of Artsakh is a direct continuation of Azerbaijan's military aggression against the Republic of Artsakh and its people, with the direct involvement of terrorist organizations from Turkey and the Middle East since 2020. Unable to expel the people of Artsakh from their homeland by military means, Azerbaijan has been persistently attempting to achieve its criminal goals through less visible, but equally inhumane methods for more than two years since the establishment of a ceasefire," reads a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Artsakh on January 12.
