Drone Shot Down in Syria, US Military Claims It Is of Iranian Manufacture
American military personnel have reportedly shot down a drone of presumed Iranian manufacture in Syria. The information was provided by the US Central Command (CENTCOM).
It is noted that the drone was allegedly conducting reconnaissance near a US base in northeastern Syria. “On February 14 at 14:30 local time, US forces in Syria shot down an Iranian-manufactured drone that was attempting to conduct reconnaissance for the Conoco mission support site near a patrol base in northeastern Syria,” CENTCOM’s statement published on Twitter reads.
It should be recalled that the US military unlawfully controls several territories in northern and northeastern Syria. The official Damascus has repeatedly stated that the presence of American military personnel in its territory is an occupation and constitutes state piracy aimed at the outright theft of oil.
