Iran-Russia Cooperation Can Serve Regional Interests: Raisi
Welcoming the evolving economic relations between Iran and Russia, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi stated that the capabilities of both countries can complement each other by serving mutual and regional interests. This was reported by the Tasnim agency.
During a meeting in Tehran with Vyacheslav Volodin, the Chairman of the State Duma of Russia, Raisi noted that economic relations between Tehran and Moscow are continuously strengthening and improving.
“The two countries have different, numerous capabilities in the fields of energy, transit, and transportation that can be activated to develop cooperation,” he added.
The President also announced that Iran is monitoring the full implementation of agreements with Russia, adding, “The capabilities of both sides can complement each other, and their utilization, aside from ensuring the interests of both countries, can provide regional benefits.”
For his part, Volodin stated that Iran's positions regarding the enhancement of regional and neighborly relations could contribute to the development of cooperation between the two countries. “Russia shares the same approach and opinion regarding the improvement of cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran, and our agenda is based on the will of the leaders of both countries to continue developing cooperation,” he said.
