Surén Papikyan Did Not Attend the Meeting: What Message Did Takhuhie Tovmasyan Receive?
The Chair of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs, Takhuhie Tovmasyan, organized a discussion today in Parliament on the topic of "The Current State of the Armed Forces of the RA, Existing Problems in the Army, and the Processes and Solutions to Them." Representatives from the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia were invited to the discussion.
“But about an hour before our scheduled meeting, I received a letter from Defense Minister Surén Papikyan stating that he does not consider it appropriate to participate in this meeting or send any representative. What is this, if not an irresponsible attitude towards a primary mandate-holding body?” noted Tovmasyan.
