Georgia's President: "I Do Not Welcome the Resumption of Flights with Russia"
Georgia's President Salome Zurabishvili has not supported the idea of restoring direct flights with Russia and has called for the regulation of the conditions under which Russians are present in the country. This is stated in a press release published on her administration's website.
The statement is titled "I Do Not Welcome the Resumption of Flights with Russia." In the release, Zurabishvili noted, "I have repeatedly urged the government to seriously consider the issue of the flow of Russian citizens, taking into account all of its socio-political parameters, so that society feels that its national interests and security are being taken into account and protected."
According to Zurabishvili, Georgia needs regulation in areas such as the issuance of work permits, business registration, acquiring property, and the opening of Russian-speaking schools.
