Ukrainian Specialist Alexander Petrakov to Lead Armenia's National Football Team

Ukrainian specialist Alexander Petrakov will head Armenia's national team. On January 14, a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) took place, during which the appointment of the head coach for the Armenian national team was discussed. Following 1.5 hours of deliberations, former head coach of the Ukraine national team, Alexander Petrakov, was selected from the proposed candidates.

Throughout his coaching career, Petrakov has trained various age groups of the Ukrainian national teams. “Choosing the head coach of the Armenian national team was challenging because we understand we are entering a crucial phase where we need to assess whether the coach can meet our objectives,” said FFA President Armen Melikbekyan during a broadcast on Public Television. “We will discuss the details of the contract later, as we are still negotiating certain aspects. He will come to Yerevan soon to sign the contract,” Melikbekyan noted, adding that the negotiations were complex but have concluded successfully.
