US Requests Negotiations Regarding Strait of Hormuz: Iran
Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi has announced that the United States has approached with a proposal to initiate negotiations and resolve differences. According to him, the US message was received about 4-5 days after the onset of a new phase of conflict.
Gharibabadi specified that any agreement regarding the Strait of Hormuz should be concluded solely between Iran and Oman, excluding any intervention from other countries. He also stated that once the new agreement comes into effect, temporary shipping routes operating in the Strait of Hormuz will be closed, and some vessels entering and leaving Iranian territorial waters will benefit from the new route.
So far, there has been no official confirmation from the US regarding this statement.
