Mass Power Outages in Georgia

Georgia has been experiencing large-scale power outages for the third consecutive day. According to local media reports, this marks the third such incident in the last two weeks.

The Georgian Intelligence Service has initiated an investigation into the cause of the outages following the widespread power cuts that occurred on July 24-25.

It remains unclear whether the new outages are connected to the previous incidents or if they are due to other reasons. The Georgian authorities have yet to provide a comprehensive explanation.

The previous outages were linked to a major accident, according to Telmiko, the electricity distribution company, which stated, “Gradually, throughout the night, electricity will be supplied to all subscribers.”

Citizens are reporting on social media various disruptions in power supply across different regions. There is currently no electricity in portions of Tbilisi, Mtskheta, Gori, Batumi, Poti, Borjomi, Kutaisi, Zugdidi, and several other cities.
