Zidane is the Main Candidate for Brazil National Team Head Coach

Former Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane is the main candidate for the position of head coach of the Brazil national team, reports French outlet L'Equipe. The position became vacant after Brazilian coach Tite's resignation.

The leadership of the Brazilian Football Confederation wants to see Zidane at the helm of the national team and plans to negotiate with him. Also among the candidates are Argentine Mauricio Pochettino, Portuguese Jose Mourinho, German Thomas Tuchel, and Spaniards Rafael Benitez and Luis Enrique.

The 50-year-old Zidane has been without a coaching position since leaving Real in 2021. It was expected that after the World Cup, he would replace Didier Deschamps as head coach of the French national team, but since the 2022 World Cup, the French Football Federation has not discussed replacing him.
