VIDEO: "It was a surprise for me that there is a cement deficit in the Armenian market," says Pashinyan
At today's government meeting, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted that it was a surprise for him that there are certain deficit phenomena in the Armenian cement market.
"This means that there is such a volume of construction in Armenia that our local producers are unable to supply the market sufficiently, which is why we decided to reduce the import duty on imported cement," the Prime Minister stated.
Pashinyan mentioned that the cement deficit is good from one perspective, as it indicates a significant volume of construction in the country, but it is also concerning because it could lead to a slowdown in construction activities.
